Jamboree In The Hills

Once a year...every July...our little city turns into the host of the biggest country music festival in the country. Jamboree In The Hills...also known as the "Super Bowl" of country music...brings in thousands and thousands of people. For one week in July every year, the residents here brace themselves and ready for the hustle and bustle that ensues. The 4 day music festival and the people it brings in, is wonderful for our local economy. However...lol...it's also a bit crazy with so many people in such a small area, who aren't used to so much traffic and long lines at the super market and mall. To locals, it's a bit funny as well, that during this one week in July every year, ALL the local stores now carry coolers, lawn chairs, spray bottles, suntan lotion, sunglasses and marde gras beads...which will be on sale and marked down 50% next week...haaaa!!!!!! Once nice thing though, is that the festival IS televised here locally...so we local yocals can sit at home in the cool air conditioning and enjoy the music and entertainment for free :-)

SO very true.
We will be sitting at home viewing this from our TV too! I am always in awe of all the traffic that the JITH brings. I learned my lesson a few years ago. I got stuck in traffic just trying to get on to the mall exit and was so frustrated. It's now a week that I just steer clear of ST.C all together.
Just glad that we can watch it from the comfort of home.
