Cupboard finds...

Check out these 2 cupboard pieces we thrifted today. Only 8 bucks for both. I'm gonna paint the bottom one black, and will problably paint the top one a more primitive shade of red. The top one needs a shelf, so hubby is gonna do that for me. Can't wait to get them painted, sanded & primmed up and added to the rest of my prim junk...lol.

Down At The Creek...

Made another trip down to the creek to get rocks today. We're using stones to accent and border our garden, so what better place to go then the creek to get rocks...and they're FREE...woooohoooo!!! Hubby and I take our WalMart bags...doubled of course...and peruse the bank for the perfect stones to fill our sacks. We've made quite a few trips this summer, and will probably make several more. It's actually quite peaceful to go on our little rock hunts...I love the sound of the bubbling water...so relaxing.

We got my hoosier cupboard moved lastnight, and I'm still trying to move things around today. Not sure about you, but I like to rearrange things...mostly my prim decorations...at least once a year. Gives me a little change of scenery, and sometimes makes me feel like I got something new even though I didn't...lol. I found a couple of electric window candles that I forgot I had, so I put one on top of a prim shelf I have, and I really like the way it looks...warm & cozy.

It's Monday, so I think the Bachelorette is on tonight. If I don't catch that, I'll probably work on my jigsaw puzzle and do some more straightening up around here.

I'm pooped...

Busy day. Got the trim'n done around the yard, then hubby and I mowed. None to soon I tell ya, cuz there's a storm brew'n up out there. Got dark all of a sudden, the wind is really pick'n up, and I can hear the thunder get'n closer.

I think I'm gonna try to move some pieces of furniture around tomorrow. I put one of my old cupboards in my booth at the antique mall, so now I have a bare spot I need to fill. I have a another cupboard...a hoosier that was my grandma's...that I think I'll move there. Where the hoosier is now, I can put my year round tree and fill in with some little things. I need to change the lights on my tree anyway...half of them went out over a week ago...lol.

Not much else go'n on this evening. Design Star is on HGTV tonight, so I'll probably sit and watch that and work on a stitchery. I have a few dolls I need to work on too, but I'm so pooped out from be'n in the yard and sun today, that I'd just rather sit on the couch and stitch.

Being thankful...

I like to be thankful for the little things in life. I'm not rich, I'm not in perfect health, but I'm thankful for what I do have. My aunt is battling cancer right now, as well as a close family friend, and another close family friend has lost the majority of his eye sight. I'm thankful today that I can walk, that I can see, and that I'm blessed with a wonderful hubby in my life who is my best friend.

Tried something new today...

We have a new Chinese buffet in town, so hubby and I thought we'd give it a try today. Service was excellent, but the food wasn't the best. It was good, but not great, and I wouldn't be rushing to get back there soon. The one entertaining part of it all was the owner...I'm tell'n ya, it was Bobby Trendy. If you don't know who designer Bobby Trendy is, ya gotta go Google him...he's a character.

After dinner we made a trip to Lowe's to look at leaf blowers. My parents wedding anniversary is coming up at the end of the month, and this year we're all pitching in and get'n them a leaf blower. They're always borrowing the neighbor's so we figured it's time they had one of their own.

Need to straighten up around here and dust. Hubby was a darlin and got the vacuuming done...so I need to get things finished up. Off to clean...ick :-P
