It's late...

It's after midnight, and I'm just now posting to my blog...where did this evening go??? Thanks to everyone who posted comments about my friend Mike and sent me well wishes. Tomorrow is his funeral...still doesn't seem real. I was talking to my mom about it tonight, and how this feels like another stage of life...and just how fast life goes. I can remember be'n a kid and lose'n my grandparents...now it's people my parents age. It's definately true what my grandma always told me, the older you get, the faster time goes...yet I never really feel totally grown up...lol.

Heaven got a new angel...

My very dear friend Mike went home to be with Jesus lastnight, after battling cancer for several years...he was 69. I knew him most of my life, and I will miss him greatly. He was always like a second dad to me, and someone I was proud to call my friend. Even though there is an empty spot in my heart that is sad, I also feel very blessed to have had such a compassionate & kind person be a part of my childhood and adult life as well. Even when I got married, Mike always treated my hubby as if he'd known him all his life as well...hubs was always amazed because he had never met anyone like that before.

To Mike...I love you and miss you...see you on the other side my friend. You were a true blessing in my life and I will always cherish our time together, our talks, and your bear hugs :-)

It's Sunday...

The day started with the dog jumping up in bed with us this morning. We cuddled her for awhile...she's such a snuggle bug...then decided it was probably a good idea if we got out of bed sometime today...lol. Kinda bummed around the house for a bit...did a few things here and there and got orders done. Decided on salads for dinner, then mowed the grass...it was still really hot out there today. I need to go back out and water flowers, then I have some goodies I need to work on for my booth. I've got a piece of cake wait'n on me when I get back in from water'n the flowers...yummy!!!

Have a GREAT Sunday evening :-)

Hotter than hot...

Wowsers...is this heat wave ever gonna end??? It was up over 90 degrees again today, and I'm totally look'n forward to the Fall and cooler temps. We had planned on mow'n grass today, but I didn't think I could take it. They're say'n only in the 80's tomorrow...so cross'n my fingers we'll be able to cut grass.

Yesterday hubby and I took a ride out to Cambridge and Zanesville. I just love look'n at crafts and antiques...wish I had the budget to buy everything I liked...heeeheee!!! Stopped at Hobby Lobby while in Zanesville...they already have their Christmas stuff out...seems like it gets earlier and earlier every year. Ate dinner at the Golden Corral, then headed home.

Today I made a cake for my parent's anniversary...yellow with chocolate icing. I had planned on get'n them a leaf blower, but Sears couldn't get the one we wanted. So hubs and I wound up at Lowe's and got them a whiskey barrel planter they had mentioned they'd like for the yard. Guess the leaf blower will have to wait for Christmas.

Tonight it's finishing up a doll, and work'n on a pattern.
Enjoy your evening :-)

Thursday...

Didn't get my walk'n in today...bad me...heeeheee. Slept in, then went and straigtened up my booth at the antique mall...it was soooooooo hot in there today. Either that, or the menopause is set'n in and the hot flashes are start'n...lol.

Hubs and I ordered pizza for dinner today, then took it to the park to eat. If you haven't figured it out yet, I don't cook too much anymore. There's just the two of us...no kiddos...and it's just a whole lot easier for us to go out to eat...less expensive too. I do a WalMart trip once or twice a week and pick up things like fresh fruit, crackers, granola bars and basic stuff...plus the other household things like soap, detergent, tp and toiletries. But as far as big food shopping and planning meals, we don't it anymore.

We spent a few hours out in the yard tonight. I trimmed the hedges across the back of the yard, and hubby worked on the lawn mower. We bought a new mower last week, cuz the old one conked out on us. Hubby got the old one run'n again tonight though, so now we have 2 lawn mowers. Ok with me...we can both be out there mow'n at the same time and get the lawn done a whole lot faster.

I have some dolls I need to finish up before I go to bed, then get the final coat of paint on my cupboard. I've gotten both of my thrifted cupboards painted now...woohoo!!!

Homemade cookies...yum

Just got done make'n a batch of homemade cookies...yummy!!! More than just plain ole chocolate chip cookies...I added walnuts and coconut too...mmm mmm good. I'm not one to eat warm cookies, so these will have to cool off a bit for my liking...however...hubby has already "sampled" several, and they seem to have passed the test :-) I don't have any wire racks, so I put my cookies on paper towels on the kitchen table to cool off.

Started my day with my walk at the mall. Had some normal errands to run like the post office and bank. We went to dinner at Mehlman's...a local cafeteria style restaurant...then to Lowe's for a board to put a shelf in my red cupboard we thrifted yesterday. Came home and whipped up my cookies, while hubby worked on my cupboard. Got some work done, processed orders, and will try to get my cupboard painted this evening. Other than that, not much go'n on :-)
